Dogs Trust and Paramount Pictures
With election week out of the way, our first campaign is a personal highlight from the past five days - #DogsAtPollingStations
Following the previous success of the hashtag, Dogs Trust has jumped on the political band wagon and teamed up with Twitter to encourage polling stations to host ‘Paw-ing Stations’. It created its very own emoji to go with the popular hashtag and embarked on a Twitter campaign like no other. The animal welfare charity developed some top tips for owners and volunteers to help them make their venues dog friendly!
We think this trend nearly stole the spotlight yesterday as it received masses of media coverage and interaction on Twitter. A great example of a brand raising awareness through a well-timed hashtag!
Baywatch Beach Ball
To celebrate the launch of its new Baywatch film, Paramount Pictures upped the ante last week as it set about trying to get its name in the Guinness Book of Records. The movie giant constructed the world’s largest inflatable beach ball and let it bounce its way down the Thames (Ok not quite, a large boat helped it along the way) beating off a record that has stood since 2012.
Although we like the attempt to drum up some last-minute publicity ahead of the films launch, we can’t help but feel that this kind of promotion, involving oversized items floating down the River Thames, has been done to no end? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
